Now that you have your subscription, it’s time to discover the platform and get started with Buzzmath. In this tutorial, you’ll discover everything you need to take control and get off to a good start with your students.
To fully master the platform, we recommend that you follow the levels and stations in this tutorial. It is designed to guide you through the various steps you will take to be able to properly use the platform with your students.

Station 1: Activate your Buzzmath account
Teacher and student accounts are very similar, but not identical. For example, students cannot send activities or analyze the use statistics of other students! These features are reserved for the teacher account.
However, both types of accounts provide access to all of the activities on the platform. Before exploring Buzzmath's content and features in more detail, you need to create your account!
HOW TO JOIN MY SCHOOL'S BUZZMATH SUBSCRIPTION
As soon as the Buzzmath team registers your school in the system, the person responsible for your school's subscription will notify you. All you have to do is finalize your registration. Let's look at the steps you need to follow to join your school:
Go to the login page, click on Join My School and select the option Did you receive an email invitation?
Enter your email address or click Continue with Google. If you have entered the correct email address, you will get the following message: Verification email sent!
Go to your email inbox and click the link to complete the process. You will be redirected to two options: New user or Already have an account?
If you are a new user, you will need to create your profile. If you want to retrieve an account that you used in a previous year linked to this email, you will need to enter the login information for that account. Once this step is complete, you will need to create your classes.
If you have not received the confirmation email:
Check your institutional email inbox regularly.
If you cannot find the confirmation email in the inbox, check your junk mail box.
Ask your colleagues if they are in the same situation as you.

Activating your students’ accounts
- Log in to your account and then access the Manage Classes section using the menu on the left.
- Watch the video that corresponds to your situation to learn how to activate your students’ account.
A) Activate the accounts of students in grades 1 and 2
This video will show you how to create and activate your students’ accounts on your own.
B) Activate the accounts of students in grades 3 and up
This video will show you how to activate your students’ accounts on your own (this is the option we recommend).
If you wish, you can also choose the 2nd option, which involves providing your students with the activation code so that they can create and activate their account themselves.
The process to activate a student account is very similar to the one you used to activate your teacher account.
You’re done! Your students’ accounts are created and activated. Your students can now log in to www.buzzmath.com using the Login button at the top of the page.
The next station explains how to log in to the platform.
Station 2: Login
Here are the steps to follow to log in once your account is activated:
Login for students in grades 1 and 2
- The students access the login page by clicking or tapping the Login button at the top of the www.buzzmath.com homepage.
- The students select the option Students grades 1 and 2.
- The students are directed to a page where they must enter their class code. Then, they simply choose their avatar and confirm their choice.
Login for students in grades 3 and up
- The students access the login page by tapping or clicking the Login button at the top of the www.buzzmath.com homepage
- The students choose the option Students grade 3 and up.
- The students enter their username (full name or email address) and their password.
If your students completed their activation using a Google account, they can log in using this connection from the login page by clicking or tapping Sign In with Google. They simply choose the Google account associated with their Buzzmath account.
- Access the login page by clicking or tapping the Login button at the top of the Buzzmath homepage.
- Then choose the Teacher Login option.
- Enter your username (full name or email address) and your password.
If you completed your activation using your Google account, you can connect using this login from the login page by clicking or tapping Sign In with Google. Simply choose the Google account associated with your Buzzmath account.
If any of your students in grades 3 or up are unable to log in to their account because their password or username does not work, follow these steps:
- From your teacher account, click or tap Manage Classes in the sidebar on the left.
- Choose the class the student is in.
- Find the student’s name, and select the blue pencil to the right of their name to change their email address or password.
Station 3: Send your first assignment
Sending assignments to your students makes your life much easier! It allows you to have the students work on targeted activities!
Here are the steps to follow to send your first assignment!
Make sure to find the activity that seems to best respond to your needs at the moment.
We recommend that you start with the introduction to Buzzmath activities in the section Diagnostic tasks.
For students in grades 3 and up, you can continue with the knowledge review. This is referred to as Diagnostic tasks, found at the beginning of each chapter in all of the Buzzmath books. Here’s an example:
Once you have chosen the activity you would like to send, you have 3 options:
Option 1: Select the plane at the end of the name of the activity, and then click or tap Send as an Assignment
Option 2: Click or tap the name of the activity, then Send as an Assignment.
Option 3: Open the assignment and click or tap Send actvity at the top of the assignment page.
All of these options allow you to send this activity to an entire group or to individual students.
Your students will automatically receive the activity. It will be added directly to their homepage. They can’t miss it the next time they log in.
Station 4: Consult the detailed results
In this section, we will look at Track Assignments, one of the most consulted reports. The other types of reports will be explored later in the tutorial.
When you send an activity (and your students complete it), you’ll be able to see what they did. You’re just a couple of steps away from being able to better monitor your students’ progress on the platform! Here are the steps to follow to consult this report:
Click or tap Track Assignments on the platform’s homepage or on Reports in the sidebar on the left, then click or tap Track Assignments.
Make sure to find the activity for which you would like to consult the detailed report.
Once you have selected the activity you would like to consult, you have 3 options:
Option 1: Click or tap Show results panel at the end of the name of the activity.
Option 2: Click or tap the name of the activity, then click or tap Show results panel.
Option 3: Open the activity, and then click or tap Show results panel at the top of the assignment page.
All of these options allow you to consult the detailed results report for an assignment.
You can define the number of attempts that determine the green and yellow checkmarks. To do this, simply go to the activity’s detailed results panel, then open the tab Define attempts amount and enter the number of attempts.
Green checkmark: The student successfully completed the page in 3 attempts or less.
Yellow checkmark: The student successfully completed the page in more than 3 attempts.
Red X: The student tried but never successfully completed the page.
Black line: The student did not try the page.
This will allow you to quickly identify any difficulties the students may be having by analyzing the number of attempts for each page.
